Director of the Institute is Ivana Stevanović, PhD Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Criminological & Sociological Research.

On the grounds of the Act of the Government of the Republic of Serbia from May 18th, 2023 the President and the Members of the Board of Directors have been appointed.

Institute of Criminological & Sociological Research is a scientific and research organization dedicated to studying ethiology, phenomenology and prevention of criminality and social deviations.

Although it has not always been present under the same name, the Institue has been functioning since its establishment in 1960, under the Regulation of Federal Executive Council of the Socialistic Federal Republic of Yugoslavia as the Institue for criminological and criminalistical research.

After its connection with Serbian Sociological Institute in 1971, the Institute obtained its current name - Institute of Criminological & Sociological Research

Until today, the Institute has managed to accomplish several fundamenta and applicative researches from the field of criminology and other related scientific disciplines. Some of the results of these research activities have been published in scientific articles and cited in international scientific journals.

The Institute has organized numerous of expert and scientific conferences and seminars and realized over one hundred worksohops and educative courses as additional professional trainings for experts employed in judiciary bodies and penitentiary institutions.

Between 1961 and 1984, the director of the Institute was Professor Milan Milutinović PhD, Full Professor at University of Belgrade.

The director of the Institute between 1984 and 2006 was Professor Dobrivoje Radovanović PhD, Full Professor at University of Belgrade.

Between 2006 and 2014, the director of the Institute is Leposava Kron PhD, Senior Research Fellow at Institute of Criminological & Sociological Research

Since 2015, the director of the Institute is Ivana Stevanović PhD, Research Fellow at the Institute of Criminological & Sociological Research

The institute is placed in the building constructed in 1912, according to the project of a renowned architect Nikola Nestorović, which officialy obtained the status of cultral heritage by the Decision of the Government of the Republic of Serbia.
